How much does a new mini excavator cost?
Public prices in Spain run from about 4,500 EUR for 1 t to about 14,000 EUR for 2.5 t. Here is what moves that figure and what to check.
Price ranges seen in Spain
Based on public offers from Spanish online shops reviewed in October 2026, a new 1 t mini excavator costs roughly 4,500 to 5,500 EUR, a 1.5 t one 8,000 to 12,000 EUR depending on engine and cab, a 1.8 t one around 11,500 to 12,500 EUR and a 2.5 t one close to 14,000 EUR. These are indicative figures: VAT, transport and terms vary from shop to shop.
| Tonnage | Indicative range | What usually makes the difference |
|---|---|---|
| 1 t | 4,500 – 5,500 EUR | Single- or twin-cylinder engine, side swing |
| 1.5 t | 8,000 – 12,000 EUR | Kubota or Chinese engine, cab, extendable tracks |
| 1.8 t | 11,500 – 12,500 EUR | Three-cylinder engine, quick coupler |
| 2.5 t | Close to 14,000 EUR | Engine and hydraulics, zero tail swing |
What moves the price
- The engine: make, number of cylinders and emissions standard (Euro 5, EPA).
- The cab or canopy, pilot control and air conditioning.
- The quick coupler, the hydraulic line for a breaker and the buckets included.
- Transport to your site and who handles documentation and customs.
Signs of an offer that is too cheap
If a 1 t mini excavator is priced far below the rest of the market, ask about the exact engine, CE marking and emissions standard, the warranty in writing, technical service in your area and who supplies the spares. A low price without backing usually ends up costing more.
