How to read a forklift data sheet
The figures that matter most, what they mean and how to check them against your building, doors and load.
Rated capacity and load centre
Rated capacity is the maximum load for a given load centre, normally 500 mm. If your load is longer or lifted high, real capacity drops.
Lift height and lowered mast
Lift height is how high the forks rise. The lowered mast height decides whether you fit through a door or into a container. Compare it with the lowest entrance on your route.
Turning radius and aisle width
The outer turning radius sets the room needed to manoeuvre. The right-angle aisle width gives the minimum aisle for stacking a pallet with the truck at a right angle.
Service weight and axle load
Service weight matters for transport, floor loading and docks. Check that the floor and loading platform can take it.
Tyres, speed and gradient
Air-filled or solid tyres determine the floor type. Travel speed and maximum gradient show performance outdoors and on ramps.
Manufacturer data
On our data sheets, the figures are supplied by the manufacturer and may vary with the final configuration of each machine. If you need a specific figure, we confirm it in writing before quoting.
