1 tonne mini excavator: what it can do
The 1 t fits almost any access but is not for everything. Here are its limits.
What it does well
- Narrow trenches for irrigation, cabling and small drains.
- Work in yards, gardens and refurbishments where only a small machine fits.
- Light demolition and loading rubble into wheelbarrows or trailers.
TCE10 figures
According to the manufacturer, the TCE10 weighs 1,000 kg, is 940 mm wide and reaches 1,320 mm digging depth. The electric TCE10EV reaches 1,650 mm with a lithium battery of more than 15 hours' run time and is available open, with a canopy or with a cab.
When to step up
If you need more than around 1.6 m of depth, all-day continuous work or a hydraulic breaker, step up to 1.5 or 2 tonnes. If the access is under 80 cm, consider an 800 kg machine.
